Consigner Information

What is a Consigner?

Someone who entrusts (one's goods) to the possession of a dealer to be sold for profit or returned if unsold

Who is a Consigner?

Anyone who has items he or she would like to have sold on their behalf at auction can become a consigner.

What is an Estate?

The legal position or status of an owner, considered with respect to property owned in land or other things.

How do I become a Consigner?

Complete this form, include a list (doesnt have to be complete) of the items to consign to Henderson Auction Gallery. Our auctioneer Steve Brigandi will contact you within 24 hours to discuss your consignment items

How does Henderson Auction Gallery sell my items or estate?

Typically once the consigner contract has been signed, your items will be in the next auction unless otherwise specified in the contract.
Some consigners have a large quantity of items, such as estate sales, and it may take more than one auction to sell all the consigners items. If an estate is large enough the entire auction can be dedicated to that estate. See our current auctions.

Do I have to bring my conginment items?

We have a couple methods available to receive consigned items:
  • The consigner can drop off your items at the gallery
  • We can pick up the consigners items
  • We can sell the items right where they sit (an onsite auction)
  • How much does Henderson Auction Gallery charge consigners?

Each consigner is unique. Any percentages, fees or other charges to Henderson Auction Gallery is determined at the time the contract is drawn up.

Things to consider when desiding to become a Henderson Auction Consigner:
  • Dropping off consigner items will guarantee the highest possible return for the consigner
  • Having Henderson Auction Gallery pick up consigner items is very convient but this convience
will come at a price. Please discuss this issue with the auctioneer.
  • Having an onsite auction is the most profitable for the consigner. It is a proven fact that onsite
auctions draw a bigger crowd and gets higher amounts for the items vs. having an auction at the gallery.
Also, the buyer is responsible for removing their purchased items eliminating the consigner and Henderson Auction Gallery from moving those items.
  • Auction Information

    Buying at an Auction

Buying or, Bidding as a more accurate term, is easy. At anytime during the preview hours and even during the auction a potential Bidder can register a Bidder Number that will identify thier bids to the auctioneer.
See our current auctions. To register a bidder number at Henderson Auction Gallery:
  • See the Cashier at the rear of the auction next to the consession stand.
  • Complete the form including your drivers license and/or resale tax id
  • Take your new bidder number. Let the cashier know if you wish to keep your number as yours.
  • If you haven't by now, go browse the items in the gallery.
  • When an item you wish to bid on goes on the block, raise your bidder card with your number facing the auctioneer.
Note: Make sure the auctioneer or bid catcher sees your bid. The pace of bidding can get hectic and they may not initially see your bid.
  • If the bid price goes higher than you want, lower your bidder card to indicate you are no longer bidding. If no one calls a higher bid, YOU WIN!
  • Note down on your card the item and price. This will come in handy when cashing out.
  • When you are done with your bidding, return to the cashier to settle your account.
Note: You are responsible for packing the items you purchased and removing them from the gallery. For items too large to move that nite, Henderson Auction Gallery will be open Monday and Tuesday for auction pickup.
  • Selling at an Auction
